 A former teacher at SW Arkansas School was sentenced in a sexual assault case involving a student.  

42-year-old Labrada Van was found guilty of first-degree sexual assault and was sentenced to six years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections Center. 

 Van's original trial was started in late June but her team of lawyers failed for a continuance to seek a mental evaluation. The results proved her competent to stand trial.

The jury only deliberated for a few hours before settling on a guilty verdict and then only met for an hour to settle her sentence. KARK.com
