2 – Breaking News Updated Over 24 Hours

     Breaking news! Nearly two weeks ago Danelo Cavalcante, a conceived killer who escaped from an eastern Pennsylvania prison is still on the loose. As the manhunt continues for Cavalcante authorities warn he is considered armed and extremely dangerous. Cavalcante was convicted of brutally stabbing and killing his girlfriend in front of her children in  2021. He is also wanted for murder in his native country of Brazil. 

Cavalcante escaped from Chester County Prison on August 31, 2023. Amidst his away, Cavalcante stole a .22 Caliber rifle from a resident garage in East Nantmeal, Pennsylvania. The homeowner fired 7 shots at Cavalcante but police do not believe that he was hit. Authorities have 500 members from multiple law enforcement agencies engaged in the manhunt.

Law enforcement officers are confident the manhunt will be successful in the long run. It is believed the convict has knowledge of the surrounding areas that are aiding him in his escape. The area in which Cavalcante is believed to be hiding is a densely wooded area with plenty of hiding spots. Police advise homeowners to keep a vigilant lookout and stay aware by keeping homes and buildings locked away. Officials do believe that Cavalcante is desperate enough to use the weapon he has stolen and warn residents in the surrounding areas not to approach the man if he is seen but to remain indoors can call the police.
